Details

The exciting refurbishment of Hotel Gosford encompassed the existing heritage listed building, and saw the incorporation of a new multi-function, bistro offering. The new wing includes a bistro, Main bar, Lounge and Beer garden.

The timeless, rustic palette has drawn inspiration from the Historic 1920’s hotel. Rich rustic timbers, an exposed steel structure, with hints of brass, create a welcoming and warm palette. The industrial yet contemporary feel creates a timeless aesthetic that enhances and celebrates the original Hotel.

The new wing has sweeping raked ceilings that are sculptural in form, that mimic the solid colonnades of the existing heritage listed building.

This sensitive, exciting, and timeless design commemorates and takes inspiration from the old, whilst celebrating the new with contemporary, rich forms and finishes.

Built on a greenfield site in the heart of the town centre – the driving concept for the design was to create a ‘destination venue’ which offers high quality Bistro style food as well as frequent live entertainment.

The design objective is achieved using focal facebrick facades which address the main street frontages combined with modern country-pub interior spaces finished with high quality materials.

A key challenge was incorporating the substantial acoustic treatments required for the venue to host a variety of live acts without compromising any of the signature interior features.

The design cleverly captures contemporary interior trends that are well blended with tones of the traditional country style pub to create a highly unique Hunter Valley venue.
